Bio

Brian joined the Rotary Club of Swarthmore in 2009, shortly after he and his family moved to the area from Toronto, Canada. He quickly assumed an active role in the Club creating a new club website, which he continues to maintain today.  After 2 months in the Club, he was asked to join the Club Board and served as editor of the Club Newsletter for several years.

Brian was Club President for the 2011-12 Rotary year and continues to serve as a Board member, and as Club Executive Secretary with responsibility for maintaining club member records.

In 2009 after just a few months in Rotary, then DG Al Marland asked Brian to help implement the new District and Club Database – DACdb. He works closely with clubs across the district, our District Leadership, and the vendor to fully leverage the tool to help our clubs and district maintain member records with minimal effort allowing more time for other Rotary service. He has conducted DACdb training sessions at District Assemblies, visited clubs to assist with DACdb and held many impromptu phone calls and virtual “Office Hours” to train and assist clubs.

Brian has served on the District 7450 RYLA Organizing Committee as Registrar and Webmaster since 2015 and worked on the District Conference Organizing Committees for several years during his 17 years in Rotary. In 2014 he worked with District Leadership to launch the new District Website and was asked to Chair the newly formed Technology Committee.

Beyond the district, Brian has served on the Mid-Atlantic PETS / Liberty PELS Organizing Committee as Registrar since 2015. He also created and maintained the MAPETS.org website and continues to assist with Maintenance of the LibertyPELS.org website. He also served and Webmaster and Communications Director for RLI NEA from 2019 to 2021.

Brian served on the Board of Rotary District 7450 Inc. as Member at Large for Super Area 3 from 2017 to 2020 and began a second 3-year term as Member at Large for Super Area 2 in 2024, before being nominated for the role of District Governor.

Brian is looking forward to building on this experience and serving as District Governor for the 2027-2028 Rotary Year.
